This is a very rare 1997 Disovery. Only 250 Discovery XD models were built in 1997. hand built by Land Rover Special Vehicles, #40 of 250 built. What makes this one even better is that it has the rare Event Decal Package kit professionally applied. The 3 prior owners were all Land Rover fanatics as well. Always fanatically services. You'd be hard pressed to find a cleaner, better maintained Discovery XD around! The XD has 116k miles on it. You'd never know that looking/driving it. It drives like new! The paint is super glossy with no dents, and only a couple tiny dings. Never been in an accident, clean CarFax. Never abused or carelessly offroaded. Never smoked in. Rear seat hardly ever used. Every single feature on this great Land Rover works perfectly. A/C blows cold. Most people assume this is a new Land Rover when they see it. I get waves and thumbs up from people all the time. Kids love the look of this thing! I have only put 4,000 careful miles on this XD. I am selling it as I miss my Range Rover Classic and want to go back to that model.
4.0 liter 182 HP aluminum V8. Transmission shifts smooth. Runs awesome, pulls strong and gets around 15 MPG. Freshly installed K&N air filter. All water and oil hoses replaced within last 3 months. Radiator flushed. No oil leaks!! No body or frame rust. A few spare parts included.
The 1997 Limited Edition Discovery XD had all the standard features of other Discovery models: A/C, AM/FM Cassette stereo with 6 disc CD Changer, multi speakers with subwoofer. Power door locks, mirrors and windows. Remote control entry/alarm system. Headlight washers. Trailer hitch receiver with wiring harness. Hi/Lo range gear box with Center Diff Lock option. Shifts in and out of Hi/Lo with no problems. I have the original window sticker, brochures, owner's manual, as well as info on service and more form the prior owners. Interior is near perfect, the seats have NEVER been sat on without the waterproof covers being on ad thus the seats are in perfect brand new shape under the covers. This is one WELL CARED for XD!!

The previous owner had the whole truck prepped and then the Event Decal package applied. It is showing no signs of wear. I just had is serviced at West Coast British, one of THE best and most knowledgeable LR mechanics in the US, and it needs NOTHING... other than a new owner. I am asking $11,495, but I will entertain all reasonable offers. You could find a 1997 Discovery XD for less, but keep in mind that there were only 250 of these made, and most XD's are beaten, extensively modified off road rigs. This one has had an easy life and the only reason I am selling it is that I miss my Range Rover Classic and want to switch back.Shipping can be arranged. Located in San Jose, California.
Below are more pics showing the quality of the interior and exterior.
There is a guy willing to give me 6700$ for my rover. I would pay you 6700$ out of the 12500$ you are asking for yours and slowly pay off the rest.
But, I cant, I am getting too attached to mine. Just wanted to try.
At $150 a month, it would take you a LONG time to pay it off. Of course I would retain posession until you paid it off... don't think this will work...
Serg, if you are looking for a Classic,,, one of Jeff's customers has one for sale in CO. He just mentioned it to me this morning. Email Jeff: service@jcrover4x4.com for info

Tires will need to be replaced within 3,000 or so miles. However I am flexible and we can work the tires into the deal. I have gotten about 10 emails so far, but not much action beyond that. I think I will have some good interest at the British Car Meet in Palo Alto, CA next month... if I still have it.. I kinda hope I do, otherwise I will have to be a spectator...
Serg,
First of all I Love your site! Have you had any bites on your XD? I would like to check it out but I live in Memphis, TN. I do work for an airline and it would be nothing for me to fly into an airport to check out your LR but what airport is the closest? And would you be willing to meet at an airport for me to look at your LR?
I know you only want serious buyers and I am serious but what can we work out. I am willing to drive from CA to TN if I like the LR. Let me know!
Once again, Thanks for the LROnly website. I have actually met some other LR owners in MEM through your site.
DiscoMem.. I am 20 minutes from San Jose Interntaional (SJC).. I would be more than happy to meet you at the airport and let you examine/drive the XD. I did this several years ago with a BMW I had for sale and the gentleman was very happy and drove it home. The XD is much nicer in person that I can describe it. Contact me via email or PM for more details/questions.
DevynsDad... let me know what you are thinking.
Guys while I am in no rush to give this XD away, I am open to sensible offers.
Serge.......you might want to consider the 328, it is a much better car overall and the design is clean, additionally the 348 can be had for about the same money and it is an outstanding ride.
You might also think about subscribing to the "ferrari marketplace newsletter" tons of valid price info. and lots of well cared for cars.
A friend of mine has a few ferrari's and he was a great source of info for me when I was in the market. GOOD LUCK, if I can help let me know
Serge - PM me with a price you would go for if we "swapped" - my 95LWB - I can send more picks for you if you like, but what sort of $$$ do you need to get out of the XD???
Maybe you know of a classic already, don't know what you want to pay, but this one looks pretty sweet...... EbayClassic
